Message for Parents
- Don’t forget to put your child's name on all their possessions brought into the hospital
- Remember to give the nurse on the ward any current medication your child may be taking at the time of admission
- It is important that the ward staff know of any special dietary requirements and needs your child may have or be allergic to
- If your child is under 5 years please remember to bring their Red Health Visitor Book
- Should you have to stay in the hospital with your child be prepared and take an overnight bag with you, wards are usually warm so pack some cool clothing. Only essential items should be taken as there is limited storage space on the wards
- Disposable nappies are usually supplied on the ward for you to use
- Small change for the hospital shop, trolley or vending machines
- Useful tip - If your child has a complicated medical history, you might want to write a summary so that you can provide complete, accurate information to the ward staff / care providers.
Play
When you are feeling better you will be able to play in the play area with the other children. There will probably be someone who will look after you while you are playing with the toys. |
